Walking with Heart and Sole

Team members from across Administration and Planning (A&P) once again joined hundreds of Buckeyes at the annual Central Ohio Heart Walk rallying together to support lifesaving research and education on August 16, 2025.

Team Heart and Sole, coached by Kristin Poldemann, associate vice president for Facilities Design and Construction (FDC), brought together 17 participants to raise more than $1,500. Collectively, Team Ohio State raised $89,994 across 264 teams, showcasing the university’s commitment to community well-being.

“This event is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together,” said Poldemann. “Walking alongside colleagues and friends while supporting such an important cause that is so close to my heart was truly inspiring.”

According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease occurs every 39 seconds and is the number one killer of all Americans, underscoring the importance of the annual walk.

“Every step we take together isn’t just toward a finish line, it’s toward a healthier future for our families and community,” Poldemann added.
